Hello and welcome to the Holiday Progressive Dinner Tour with some of my favorite blogger friends! If you’re here visiting from Amy at Cuter Tudor, welcome. As a new blogger its such fun to be collaborating with such talented bloggers. A big thank you to my friend Sarah Sarah Sofia Productions for hosting and organizing us! Be sure to visit the links at the bottom of the post to see everyone on the tour!
For this Christmas tablescape, I wanted to use traditional Christmas colors and I also wanted to try and use items I had on hand but in a new, never before done way. So I started with a simple red runner which actually has a plaid on the other side. Love when things can serve two purposes!
Next, I added some faux greenery with red berries I added and wove a strand of glimmer lights to give it all a little warm ambiance. Next up some mercury glass ornaments and trees along with a few candles, nothing better then the warm glow of candlelight.
There is something so charming about place tag holders, also avoids the “where do I sit?” confusion at dinner time.
The placemats I found at Pier 1 which ties into the centerpiece so nicely, don’t you think? I did break my rule and bought one item this year… the small plates are from the Hearth and Hand line at Target. They are neutral and can be used for years to come so a good investment in my opinion. The napkins I found last year at Home Goods along with the gold flatware.
If this is too much red for your taste, I also put together another table setting a little simpler… I used the same plates, and placemats but took away the red striped napkins, red table runner, and garland.
Simple grey napkins and a grey plaid table runner with just a small red line is perfect for any season, not just Christmas.
When you start with a neutral dishes it’s so much easier to put together a pretty table with just a few simple additions.
Do you love the classic Christmas red or a more simpler table? I hope you enjoyed the two tables I put together and hopefully it gave you some ideas to use yourself.
Next on the tour is the talented and inspiring Suzy at Worthing Court. I left the rest of the tour for you below to stop by and enjoy!
Until next time, thank you so much for visiting with me!
xo,
Debbie
